2016 NACTOY winners

A jury of 53 automotive journalists from Canada and the United States has decided the 2016 North American Car of the Year and Truck / Utility of the Year winners.

The Honda Civic compact took first place in the car category. Chevrolet's Malibu was just 22 points behind, while a more distant third spot for the Mazda MX-5 Miata perhaps demonstrates that many 'head over heart' votes were cast.

Second: Chevrolet Malibu – 181 points
Third: Mazda MX-5 Miata – 146 points

Turning to the truck and utility award, Honda failed to achieve double honours because the Volvo XC90 secured an emphatic victory. In fact, there was hardly anything between Honda's Pilot and Nissan's Titan XD in the battle for the runner-up position.

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
