2017 Chevrolet Cruze hatchback revealed

While the previous-generation Cruze was produced in hatchback guise, Chevrolet decided not to offer it in North America. That won't be the case with the current model though, because a new five-door version is set to appear at this month's North American International Auto Show.

The 2017 Cruze hatch, which will be marketed as a more sporty and practical choice, shares its 2,700 mm (106.3”) wheelbase with the existing sedan variant. Opening the tailgate reveals 643 litres (22.7 cu. ft.) of cargo space, or 1,336 litres (47.2 cu. ft.) if the rear seats are folded flat.

Interestingly, only the upmarket LT and Premier trim grades are going to be available, with or without an RS appearance package. Deliveries are due to begin during autumn 2016.
