2017 Suzuki V-Strom 250 first view

Suzuki's V-Strom adventure bike range is set to expand with the launch of a 250 model.

Like the just-announced GSX250R, it features a liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, 248 cc engine which is mated to a six-speed transmission. 24.6 bhp (18.4 kW / 25.0 PS) is on hand at 8,000 rpm, while 23.4 Nm (17.3 lb/ft) of peak torque arrives at 6,500 rpm.

As well as a Bosch anti-lock braking system and LCD instruments, the V-Strom 250's standard equipment list includes integrated mounting points for some optional panniers. A top box is also available if more luggage-carrying capacity is needed.

Pricing hasn't been announced, but Suzuki has said that deliveries are due to begin next summer. Customers will have a choice of Pearl Nebular Black / Solid Dazzling Cool Yellow two-tone, Metallic Diamond Red or Pearl Nebular Black paint finishes.
