Grabber Lime announced for the 2020 Mustang

Ford has taken inspiration from the 1970s for a new Mustang paint colour. Grabber Lime – which is as vibrant as that name suggests – will be available for all models including the Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT500.

Deliveries of the 2020 Mustang are due to begin this autumn. The undoubted star of the revised range is the aforementioned GT500, because it’s set to be the most powerful street-legal Ford ever.

A supercharged 5.2 litre V8 engine sends more than 700 horsepower (approximately 520 kW) to the rear wheels via a Tremec multi-mode, seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission and a bespoke carbon fibre driveshaft.

Final performance figures have yet to be confirmed, but a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) time of around 3.5 seconds is expected.

The GT500 also boasts several chassis enhancements. For example, huge 420 mm (16.5”) two-piece brake discs with six-piston Brembo calipers are fitted, while a unique suspension set-up comprises MagneRide adaptive damping and lightened springs. 20” wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres are part of the car’s standard specification too.
