Fiat revises the Tipo line-up for 2019
It’s not a particularly popular car in the UK, but Fiat continues to offer Tipo buyers a broad selection of trim grades. For 2019, the existing Easy, Street, Lounge and S-Design specifications are being joined by the new Mirror and Sport variants.
The Mirror is available in either hatchback or estate guise. Recognisable by various chrome exterior embellishments, this mid-range model also features 16” diamond-cut alloy wheels and a touchscreen-controlled Uconnect HD Live infotainment set-up that’s compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Engine choice comprises a 94 bhp (70 kW / 95 PS) 1.4 litre petrol, a 118 bhp (88 kW / 120 PS) 1.4 litre T-Jet turbocharged petrol and a 118 bhp (88 kW / 120 PS) 1.6 litre MultiJet turbocharged diesel. All three are mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
A unique front bumper, side skirts, a rear diffuser and a roof spoiler identify the Sport, which can only be ordered as a hatchback with either of the petrol engine options. Being based on the S-Design, the Sport’s standard equipment list also includes 18” diamond-cut alloy wheels, part-leather upholstery and a Uconnect Nav HD Live system.
Starting prices for the 2019 Tipo vary between £14,905 and £21,860.
