GSX-R hits 1,000,000

This year, Suzuki will reach a milestone in the production of its GSX-R line when the one millionth example is completed at the Hamamatsu factory in Japan.

Perhaps rather predictably, the firm has taken the opportunity to celebrate the occasion by creating the GSX-R1000 Commemorative Edition.

There aren’t any performance upgrades, but the new bike gets a special colour scheme and various other cosmetic embellishments including a numbered plaque on the top yoke, a red nose cone, gold forks, tank graphics, wheel stripes and black Brembo brake calipers with gold lettering.

Just 1,985 will be available, with sales due to begin next year. A price has yet to be confirmed.
