Suzuki Intruder C1500T

Suzuki has unveiled its new 2013 Intruder C1500T.

Designed to be part-tourer, part-cruiser, the specification includes a large windscreen, a plush pillion seat and panniers. Although they’re made from hard ABS plastic, the luggage cases feature a covering that matches the seat material, so creating a soft saddle bag effect.

As with the existing Intruder M1500 model, power is provided by a liquid-cooled 1,462 cc V-twin engine that sits within a steel-tube frame. It comes connected to a five-speed gearbox and shaft drive system.

The only colour option is Gloss Sparkle Black, and it’s combined with a black finish for the engine, exhaust pipes, seven-spoke aluminium wheels and various other components to give an all-over dark look.

UK sales of the Suzuki Intruder C1500T are due to begin next spring. A price has yet to be announced.

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
