Brabus ML 63 AMG

Specify the Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG with the optional Performance Package and the output from its 5.5 litre V8 engine is a substantial 550 bhp (410 kW / 557 PS), a figure that will be enough for most.

That’s not how tuner Brabus sees things though, as it has just unveiled a conversion programme for the performance SUV at the Essen Motor Show.

At the heart of the alterations is the B63-620 performance kit, comprising a PowerXtra auxiliary engine control unit and a stainless steel exhaust system. It increases the power to 611 bhp (456 kW / 620 PS), resulting in a zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) time of 4.5 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of up to 186 mph (300 km/h).

To go with the engine changes, a range of body styling has also been developed. Among the components available are Widestar wheel arch flares, a redesigned front bumper unit with a carbon fibre splitter, a rear diffuser and a selection of 22” wheels.
