Yoshimura edition Suzuki GSX-R750

Suzuki has teamed up with Yoshimura to create a special edition GSX-R750 for the UK market.

Differentiating it from the regular model is a dealer-fitted Yoshimura Accessory Pack consisting of bar end weights, an R11 exhaust system, rear paddock stand locators and a number of small bronze-alloy components.

Also included are a carbon effect rear seat cover, double-bubble screen, tank protector and fuel cap trim from the Suzuki parts range.

Altogether, the value of the extra items totals over £1,200, but Suzuki is charging just £800 on top of the GSX-R750’s usual £10,032 on the road price. Conveniently, if buyers are very quick, that premium could be matched by an £800 cashback promotion that’s running until the end of July.

Only 25 examples are going to be available, with Suzuki saying that the eligible chassis numbers have already been allocated. Customers won’t have to worry about colour choice though, as all GSX-R750 Yoshimura edition bikes will come with a Glass Sparkle Black / Metallic Thunder Grey two-tone paint finish.

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
