2015 Victory Gunner launched

The new bobber-style Victory Gunner mixes a low single seat, 16” cast 24-spoke wheels, a two-tone paintjob and hardly any chrome.

Although it has a stripped-back look, a dry weight of 294 kg (649 lbs) means the Gunner is still a fairly hefty bike. A seat height of just 635 mm (25.0”) should help to keep things manageable though.

Predictably power comes from the familiar fuel-injected 1,731 cc (106 cu. in.) ‘Freedom’ V-twin which develops 149 Nm (110 lb/ft) of torque. That output is delivered via a six-speed transmission and a carbon fibre-reinforced belt-drive system.

In the United States prices for the Victory Gunner start from $12,999.

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.

Moto Guzzi V7 Record kit

Inspired by the 1969 V7 Record that set several speed records for Moto Guzzi, the new Record kit has been designed to give current-generation V7 models a retro endurance racer look. Included is a lightweight fibreglass front fairing (which handily uses the existing headlight), plus a replacement single seat unit that features memory foam. The kit can be fitted to the V7 Café and V7 Racer without any modifications. It’s also suitable for the V7 Classic, V7 Special and V7 Stone, but a set of Moto Guzzi clip-on handlebars will be needed as well for those variants.
