Evoque Autobiography trim grades announced
Land Rover is extending its Range Rover Evoque range with the arrival of the well-appointed Autobiography and Autobiography Dynamic variants.
The features distinguishing them from lesser Evoques include leather upholstery, specially embossed head restraints and illuminated doorsill tread plates. On the outside there are 20” forged alloy wheels, unique lights front and rear, ingot ‘Autobiography’ badges and a redesigned grille and front bumper.
Furthermore, the Dynamic version comes with either sports or premium climate front seats and an uprated 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine. Joined to a nine-speed ZF automatic transmission, it produces 281 bhp (210 kW / 285 PS) with 400 Nm (295 lb/ft) of torque.
The Dynamic is also fitted with a selection of chassis enhancements to complement that extra output. Among them are a stiffer suspension set-up, recalibrated steering, bigger front brake discs and the understeer-reducing Torque Vectoring by Braking device. Completing the upgrades is the Active Driveline system which uses the Evoque’s four-wheel drive to improve handling and traction.
Power for the regular Evoque Autobiography meanwhile is provided by a choice of 187 bhp (140 kW / 190 PS) 2.2 litre diesel or 2.0 litre 237 bhp (176 kW / 240 PS) petrol engines.
Pricing and launch dates haven’t been confirmed yet, but the Evoque Autobiography and Autobiography Dynamic will be available in time for the 2015 model year.
