Seven-seat Citan Traveliner coming

Mercedes-Benz has announced that a new version of the Citan Traveliner people carrier is going to be offered in the UK.

Based on the extra-long body that’s stretched by 384 mm (15.1”) to 4,705 mm (185.2”), it features a third row of seats which takes the passenger complement up to seven. For increased flexibility the two extra chairs can be individually slid fore and aft by 130 mm (5.1”), plus they can be folded down or removed entirely.

Buyers will have a choice of 109 CDI or 111 CDI variants. Both are powered by a 1.4 litre, four-cylinder diesel engine, but the former has an output of 88 bhp (66 kW / 90 PS) while the latter boasts 108 bhp (81 kW / 110 PS).

Prices start at £17,810 (excluding VAT) and orders are being accepted from August.

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
