Volkswagen Transporter Sportline 60

Sixty years ago the first official sales of the Transporter van began in the UK. To celebrate that anniversary, Volkswagen has introduced the Sportline 60 special edition.

Replacing the existing Sportline variant, it’s identified by a set of 18” anthracite-coloured five-spoke alloy wheels, a rear roof spoiler, some bodyside decals and a pair of steel sill bars.

Completing the look are special badges, a chrome grille, gloss black door mirror caps and a choice of black or silver metallic paintwork. If that’s not distinctive enough, white with a contrasting black roof is an optional colour scheme.

Also included in the specification are front and rear parking sensors, a rear reversing camera, unique embossed leather upholstery and a Kenwood infotainment system that incorporates satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.

Power comes from a 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine. Developing 177 bhp (132 kW / 180 PS), it can be combined with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission.

The Transporter Sportline 60 is being offered in panel van and kombi guises, with both available in short- or long-wheelbase form. Prices range from £29,940 to £34,170 (excluding VAT).
