2017 Bentley Continental GT Speed revealed

Bentley has made its fastest model even faster. Thanks to a modified 6.0 litre W12 twin-turbo engine, the updated Continental GT Speed now boasts 633 bhp (472 kW / 642 PS) with 840 Nm (620 lb/ft) of peak torque.

Those figures are up by a modest 7 bhp (5 kW / 7 PS) and 20 Nm (14 lb/ft) respectively. Most owners probably won't notice or exploit that extra output, but for the record the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time has reduced from 4.2 to 4.1 seconds. Top speed meanwhile becomes 206 mph (331 km/h).

Likely to be of more interest to Bentley's clientèle is the arrival of the GT Speed Black Edition.

Various cosmetic tweaks include a black finish for the 21” five-spoke wheels, headlight bezels and window surrounds. To add some contrast, the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser come in a choice of colours called Beluga, Hallmark, St James' Red and Cyber Yellow.

Those four shades are echoed on the two-tone diamond-quilted leather upholstery, which covers Mulliner GT Design seats. Carbon fibre cabin trim provides a finishing touch.
