2019 Hymercar Grand Canyon S launched

This year’s Düsseldorf Caravan Salon is the first since the third-generation Mercedes-Benz Sprinter was introduced. Unsurprisingly, a few new campers based on that particular van have appeared at the 2018 show and, understandably, they’re receiving plenty of attention.

One of them is the latest Hymercar Grand Canyon S, which is available now in rear-wheel drive guise with a choice of three engines. However, anybody who needs some all-terrain ability might want to wait, because a 4x4 version is due to arrive next summer.

The interior layout is very conventional. Rotating cab seats form a half-dinette with the rear bench, while the mid section is occupied by a kitchenette on one side and a small wash room on the other. At the back of the van, there’s a transverse double bed (with conspicuous bulges built into the bodywork to provide sufficient length) above a storage area.
