Audi TTS Limited Edition launched

To celebrate the production of the 500,000th TT, Audi has unveiled the TTS Limited Edition.

Available in coupé or roadster form, a familiar formula is used to differentiate it from the regular model. On the outside, there’s special paintwork (Imola Yellow for the soft-top version, Nimbus Grey for the coupé), larger 19” five-spoke wheels and a rear spoiler borrowed from the TT RS.

Complementing the exterior is a cabin that’s upholstered in Impulse Grey leather with either yellow or grey ‘baseball’ style stitching. Extra equipment includes cruise control, rear parking sensors, automatic wipers and headlights, satellite navigation and a Bose audio system. As a finishing touch, there’s a commemorative plaque too.

Mechanically things are unchanged, meaning power comes from a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine that develops 268 bhp (200 kW / 272 PS) with 350 Nm (258 lb/ft) of peak torque. Buyers have a choice of either a six-speed manual gearbox or the optional S tronic twin-clutch transmission.

Production is being restricted to just 500 examples, although the UK seems to be getting a decent share as 120 are coming here.

The TTS Limited Edition coupé costs from £38,860, while the roadster starts at £42,320. Those amounts represent premiums of £2,815 over the usual TTS prices, but Audi reckons it buys an extra £5,665 of specification.
