Hyundai Intrado concept teased
The star exhibit from Hyundai at next March’s Geneva International Motor Show is set to be the new Intrado concept.
Its bodywork represents Hyundai’s latest ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ design language, but styling isn’t the Intrado’s most noteworthy aspect.
More interesting is the car’s radical underpinnings. Although Hyundai isn’t giving too much away, it has said that ‘Intrado is built around a super-lightweight structure made from a mixture of advanced materials and joined using a revolutionary technique that has the potential to change the way cars are constructed in the future’. A bold claim, then.
Just as innovative is the powertrain, which is a latest-generation hydrogen fuel cell. Significantly, it’s claimed to be both smaller and lighter than the one used in the production ix35 Fuel Cell.
