Isuzu D-Max Blade special edition

Pick-ups don’t seem to have the best of images in the UK. That’s a particular problem for Isuzu because, apart from a range of large goods vehicles, the D-Max pick-up is the brand’s only offering here. So, to help stimulate some extra buyer interest, it has just announced the new Blade special edition.

Based on the crew cab D-Max, the Blade comes with a cargo bed liner, black leather upholstery, climate control, a DAB radio and a touchscreen satellite navigation system. Also fitted are 18” six-spoke alloy wheels, privacy glass, heavy-duty side steps and a reversing camera.

Furthermore, customers get to select either a colour-coded Aeroklas hardtop canopy or a unique Black Mountain top roller cover with style bars for their Blade. The paintwork choice meanwhile comprises Splash White or Cosmic Black mica.

Priced at £29,939 (on the road, including VAT) with a six-speed manual gearbox and £31,139 for the five-speed automatic version, the D-Max Blade will be available from next month.

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
