Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II revealed

Five years after it was first launched, Rolls-Royce has given the Ghost a mild facelift.

On the inside both the front and rear seats have been modified. The dials and clock now have polished metal surrounds, plus there are additional customisation options available through the Bespoke programme.

The most noticeable (and arguably least successful) exterior change is the fitment of some oddly-shaped LED headlights. Other more subtle alterations include new bumpers and a redesigned bonnet that features a ‘wake channel’ behind the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot.

Improved ride comfort and refinement are promised by a revised chassis set-up. The suspension struts, dampers and steering system have all been reengineered, while the rear axle gains hydraulic bearings.

One element that remains the same is the 6,592 cc twin-turbo V12 engine. It continues to develop 563 bhp (420 kW / 570 PS) with 780 Nm (575 lb/ft) of peak torque, which is sufficient to accelerate the 2,360 kg (5,203 lbs) Ghost from rest to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.9 seconds.
