2015 Suzuki GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F

For anybody who wants to experience something close to superbike performance without sacrificing comfort or practicality entirely, Suzuki’s new GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F could be ideal.

Identical apart from the ‘F’ version’s fairing, both bikes share a unique frame. Within it sits a 999 cc four-cylinder fuel-injected engine that originally appeared in the 2005 GSX-R1000 K5.

As Suzuki reckons the GSX-S1000 pair will be bought mainly for street use, a retune has put the focus on low-down torque and mid-range power. Furthermore, a standard three-mode traction control system should help to inspire rider confidence in all conditions (but complete deactivation is possible when it’s not required).

Other features include a Renthal handlebar, lightweight six-spoke alloy wheels, a KYB upside-down front fork and the same aluminium rear swingarm that’s used by the current GSX-R1000. The braking set-up, which consists of Brembo monobloc calipers and floating discs, can be augmented by an anti-lock system.
