Ginetta confirms its LMP1 plans
2018 will see Ginetta participating in the FIA World Endurance Championship as an LMP1 chassis manufacturer. There won't be a works entry, though. Rather, Ginetta intends to supply three two-car privateer teams.
Names already involved in the project include Paolo Catone, designer of the Peugeot 908, and Adrian Reynard, who is overseeing the all-new car's aerodynamics.
According to Lawrence Tomlinson, Ginetta Chairman: “With Adrian and Paolo on board, the performance of the Ginetta LMP1 is going to be amazing. We are now offering a genuine ladder for our customers all the way from first race to Le Mans which is incredibly exciting for me.”
Technical specifications have yet to be announced. However, Mecachrome is expected to provide the engines, while transmissions are likely to come from Xtrac.
