The Insignia Sports Tourer’s RETTmobil debut
For this year's RETTmobil emergency equipment trade show, Opel Special Vehicles has created an Insignia Sports Tourer fire brigade command vehicle.
Beyond a high-visibility livery, blue LED warning lights and a two-way radio, the modifications are actually fairly limited. The luggage compartment does gain a bespoke carrier for fire-fighting gear, though.
Power is provided by a turbocharged 2.0 litre petrol engine that sends 256 bhp (191 kW / 260 PS) to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Consequently, this particular Kommandowagen Feuerwehr should easily fulfil one of its primary roles, which is to reach incidents quickly whatever the conditions.
