Mitsubishi unveils the e-Evolution Concept

Artificial Intelligence, which seems to be the motor industry's latest obsession, is a key feature of the new e-Evolution Concept.

The system developed by Mitsubishi is primarily intended to enhance a driver's abilities. Accordingly, various sensors monitor road conditions and human inputs, then the AI provides control assistance as required. In addition, there's a coaching function that delivers (hopefully diplomatically) driving skills training.

Similarly cutting-edge is the all-electric, four-wheel drive powertrain. This consists of a single motor for the front axle, plus two motors and an electronically-controlled torque-vectoring Active Yaw Control unit for the rear axle.

The Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept is due to make its public début at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month.
