Concept 9cento unveiled by BMW Motorrad
At this year's Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, BMW Motorrad is displaying its vision of what a future multi-role motorcycle could look like. The bike – which has been named Concept 9cento – mixes compact dimensions with an angular fairing and a stubby tail section.
Indeed, at first glance, one might be forgiven for thinking that practicality has been forgotten. However, an innovative clip-on pannier unit provides luggage capacity while adding more saddle space for a pillion passenger.
According to Edgar Heinrich, Head of Design at BMW Motorrad, “We’ve created a bike that combines the appropriate power with reliable sports touring properties and above all lots of riding fun, so it’s an attractive overall package.
“It brings together the best of the sports, adventure and touring segments to produce an exciting concept – in a class which has not seen this kind of model from BMW before.”
Whether or not a production version will follow remains to be seen.
