The Ford Ranger Raptor is coming to Europe
Following the Ranger Raptor’s recent launch in the Asia Pacific region, Ford has announced that its high-performance pick-up will soon be available across Europe too.
As previously disclosed, power is provided by a 2.0 litre bi-turbo diesel engine. This four-cylinder unit delivers 210 bhp (157 kW / 213 PS) and 500 Nm (368 lb/ft) of peak torque to all four wheels via a ten-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration and efficiency figures have yet to be released, though.
Driving modes are selected via the Terrain Management System. ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’ cover on-road use, while for other surfaces there are ‘Grass / Gravel / Snow’, ‘Mud / Sand’, ‘Rock’ and ‘Baja’ settings.
Other key features include a stronger chassis engineered by Ford Performance to accommodate a unique suspension set-up. Among the upgrades are Fox Racing Shox dampers that incorporate Position Sensitive Damping and Internal Bypass technologies. Also fitted are a Watt’s linkage arrangement and coilovers for the solid rear axle.
European deliveries of the Ranger Raptor are due to begin during summer 2019.
