Two new arrivals mark seventy years of Abarth

Abarth was founded in 1949, so this year the brand will be commemorating a special anniversary. To kick off the celebrations, a couple of extra models have been launched.

The first one is the 595 esseesse. That suffix – which was previously used for tuning kits during the 1960s and in 2009 – denotes some performance upgrades.

Accordingly, the 177 bhp (132 kW / 180 PS) 1.4 litre turbocharged petrol engine gains a BMC air filter and an Akrapovič exhaust. The specification also includes Sabelt ‘70’ seats, 17” Supersport alloy wheels in Racing White, Koni Frequency Selective Damping on the rear axle and ventilated Brembo front brake discs with oversize red calipers.

UK pricing for the 595 esseesse is expected to be revealed soon.

The 124 Rally Tribute completes the pair. As its name suggests, this limited edition recognises the roadster’s dominance of the 2018 FIA R-GT Cup (although Abarth was the only manufacturer represented in three of the five rounds).

While there’s a choice of either Costa Brava Red or Turini White paintwork, both colour schemes come with a matte black bonnet and contrasting door mirror caps. Other distinguishing features are restricted to a few bespoke badges and a numbered metal dashboard plaque.

124 examples of the 124 Rally Tribute are going to be built, but none are allocated to the UK market.
