Two additional Sprinter minibuses launched
A couple of new variants have joined the Mercedes-Benz minibus range. Named Sprinter Transfer 45 and Sprinter City 45, they’re intended for different purposes.
The Transfer 45 – which measures 7.40 metres (24’ 3”) long and has a gross vehicle weight of 5,500 kg (12,125 lbs) – carries up to 23 passengers.
As it’s aimed at a variety of operators, numerous options are being offered. They include air springs for the rear axle, luggage racks, InterStar Sprinter inter-city seats and TravelStar Sprinter coach seats. Furthermore, the 141 bhp (105 kW / 143 PS) diesel engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed automatic transmission.
By contrast, the City 45 has been designed primarily for scheduled urban services. Therefore, despite being the same length as the Transfer 45, this model is able to accommodate 30 passengers (although some of them will have to stand).
Entry is via a two-piece door with a low step height. Once inside, the central area features four fold-down seats, plus there’s space for a wheelchair. Towards the rear, CityStar Sprinter seats are fitted that are available in bare plastic form or fully upholstered.
