Lego recreates Dom’s Dodge Charger

Fans of the Fast & Furious franchise will instantly recognise the latest Lego Technic set, because it’s a miniaturised version of the 1970 Dodge Charger R/T driven in the films by street racer Dominic Toretto.

Actually, this 1:13 scale replica is going to need plenty of display space. Once fully built, the 1,077-piece kit measures 39 cm (15.3”) long, 16 cm (6.3”) wide and 11 cm (4.3”) tall.

Details include double-wishbone suspension, working steering and, beneath the opening bonnet, a V8 engine with moving pistons. An under-body bar even lets the car assume its characteristic ‘wheel-stand’ position.

The UK price for Dom’s Dodge Charger is £89.99. Orders are being accepted now (limited to two per customer) and deliveries will begin on the 27th of April.

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.

2012 Civic NGTC livery

Honda Racing’s all-new Civic NGTC race cars were first seen at a Brands Hatch test session last month. Then they were painted plain white, but now the colour scheme that will be worn in this year’s British Touring Car Championship has been revealed. As expected, the design is predominantly white with red and black stripes. A deal with Yuasa has also been confirmed, which will see the battery manufacturer becoming the renamed Honda Yuasa Racing Team’s title sponsor for the next three years.
