2021 Nissan Ariya first view
As well as being Nissan’s first pure-electric coupé crossover, the all-new Ariya is the first vehicle to bear the brand’s redesigned logo.
The five-door Ariya, which measures 4,595 mm (180.9”) long, is built on a dedicated EV platform. Consequently packaging hasn’t been compromised, as evidenced by the spacious cabin with its flat floor. In fact, Nissan hyperbolically describes the interior as having a “welcoming, luxurious lounge-like atmosphere” that’s “akin to a sleek café lounge on a starship”!
A notable highlight is the dashboard. Two configurable 12.3” screens face the driver, plus a full-colour head-up display provides essential information at a glance. Capacitive haptic switches take the place of physical buttons for the climate control functions.
In Europe, the Ariya will be offered in single motor / two-wheel drive and twin motor / e-4ORCE all-wheel drive configurations. Together with varying power outputs and two battery capacities, the result is a selection of five powertrains.
Their provisional specifications are:
Ariya 63 kWh
