P101 marks the end of the Morgan 3 Wheeler

Morgan has confirmed that production of the current-generation 3 Wheeler will cease next year. To commemorate its demise, a limited edition called P101 has been created. 101 was the number of the project responsible for the reintroduction of a three-wheeled model over a decade ago, so the name is certainly apt.

The P101 – which is available with either Deep Black or Satin White Silver paintwork – boasts several unique features. Among them are a pair of auxiliary spot lamps, straight-cut ceramic-coated exhaust pipes (black on one side, white on the other), additional louvres, and low-drag body-coloured Aero-disc wheels.

Also fitted is a lightweight tonneau cover over the passenger seat. Being made from composite resin, this component is both naturally golden and translucent.

Morgan has designed a selection of four graphics packs to complete the P101’s special look: ‘Aviator’ is inspired by RAF aeroplanes of World War II, ‘Belly Tank’ pays homage to the home-made drop-tank-based cars first seen in the late 1940s at the Bonneville Salt Flats, ‘Dazzleship’ (shown in the images) evokes the conspicuous camouflage used on many ships and some aircraft during World War I, and ‘Race Car’ recalls the brand’s motorsport history.

Just 33 examples of the P101 are going to be built, and all have already been allocated to dealers in the UK, Europe and the USA.

The 3 Wheeler story isn’t over though, because a completely new version is due to be launched sometime after 2021.
