UK prices for the 2021 Abarth 595 range

Some cosmetic tweaks can’t really hide the fact that the Abarth 595 is now rather elderly. Nevertheless, it continues into 2021 with a choice of four trim grades.

As before, both hatchback and convertible versions are available, and all are powered by a 1.4 litre T-Jet turbocharged petrol engine (albeit with various outputs). If the standard six-speed manual gearbox doesn’t appeal, then a six-speed MTA robotised sequential transmission can be specified instead for most variants.

Changes to the 145 PS (143 bhp / 106 kW) entry-level 595 are pretty much limited to a modified instrument panel, but the ‘Sport’ driving mode has been renamed ‘Scorpion’ too.

Moving up, the 165 PS (162 bhp / 121 kW) 595 Turismo gains a refreshed selection of upholsteries including Heritage Brown diamond-embossed leather.

New 17” alloy wheels on the 180 PS (177 bhp / 132 kW) 595 Competizione were inspired by the 1990s Lancia Delta Integrale. Rally Blue matte paintwork is offered exclusively on this model for the first time, while the interior benefits from a carbon fibre gear lever, an Alcantara-covered dashboard panel and revised leather colours.

Completing the line-up is the 180 PS (177 bhp / 132 kW) 595 Esseesse, which also gets the Competizione’s cabin enhancements. Furthermore, its Akrapovič exhaust system receives titanium tailpipes.
