BMW C 400 X and C 400 GT updated for 2021

Although they both look the same as before, the 2021 BMW C 400 X and C 400 GT mid-size scooters have received some worthwhile technical improvements.

For instance, their 350 cc single-cylinder engine – which continues to produce 34 PS (34 bhp / 25 kW) plus 35 Nm (25 lb-ft) of peak torque – now complies with Euro 5 emissions regulations.

To help achieve that certification, E-gas (an electronic throttle grip) and an electrically-operated throttle valve have been fitted. There’s a recalibrated engine management system and a modified cylinder head, too.

Various other alterations are intended to enhance the riding experience. They include a more responsive centrifugal clutch, better braking feel (courtesy of new front calipers and lever travel adjustments) and a revised Automatic Stability Control system. The addition of a USB charging socket completes the changes.
