Updated 2023 Ram ProMaster van revealed

Sleeker front-end styling makes the 2023 Ram ProMaster instantly recognisable. The revised design should be familiar to van aficionados in Europe, because it essentially copies the facelift that the closely-related Fiat Ducato received back in 2014.

With the cosmetic changes comes a greater range of configurations. Indeed, the introduction of a ‘super high roof’ variant now means there’s a choice of three vehicle heights, three wheelbases and four body lengths for the ProMaster Cargo Van. In addition, a new anodised aluminium roll-up rear door can be specified instead of the usual hinged items.

If both people and freight need to be carried, then Ram will also offer the ProMaster Crew Van. Available only in ‘high roof’ guise, these models feature an elevated second-row bench seat, extra polycarbonate side windows, and a protective bulkhead to separate passengers from the load space.

Initially, every 2023 ProMaster is going to be powered by a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 gasoline engine, which sends 280 PS (276 bhp / 205 kW) plus 340 Nm (250 lb-ft) of torque to the front wheels via a TorqueFlite nine-speed automatic transmission.

A battery-electric alternative is due to appear at a later date. Technical details haven’t been released yet, but they could end up replicating those of the existing zero-emissions Ducato (and its Citroën, Opel, Peugeot and Vauxhall counterparts). Amazon has already been confirmed as the first ProMaster BEV customer, incidentally.

Standard equipment includes keyless entry, traffic sign recognition, crosswind assist, forward collision warning, a reversing camera, and a telematics module. Among the numerous options are a 360° surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, active drive assist (radar-controlled Level 2 automated driving), and park assist.

2023 ProMaster deliveries are scheduled to begin during the third quarter of this year.

Aston Martin Racing has announced that it’ll be entering a V8 Vantage in the GTE Pro category of the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship. Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE.
