Enhanced 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 now available

Hyundai has given its award-winning pure-electric Ioniq 5 some major improvements for the 2023 model year.

Chief among them is the arrival of a larger 77.4 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack. Thanks to that extra capacity, provisional driving range according to the WLTP cycle can be as high as 315 miles (507 kilometres).

Consequently, customers now have a choice of three powertrain options, all of which benefit from battery heating and conditioning functions:

58 kWh rear-wheel drive

Torque – 350 Nm (258 lb-ft)
0-62 mph (100 km/h) – 8.5 seconds
Top speed – 115 mph (185 km/h)
WLTP range – 238 miles (384 kilometres)

Torque – TBC
0-62 mph (100 km/h) – 7.3 seconds
Top speed – 115 mph (185 km/h)
WLTP range – 295 miles (476 kilometres) or 315 miles (507 kilometres), depending on trim grade

77.4 kWh all-wheel drive
Power – 325 PS (320 bhp / 239 kW)
Torque – TBC
0-62 mph (100 km/h) – 5.1 seconds
Top speed – 115 mph (185 km/h)
WLTP range – 282 miles (454 kilometres) or 298 miles (481 kilometres), depending on trim grade

To coincide with the technical updates, Hyundai has introduced an additional equipment level called Namsan Edition.

As well as a full-length Vision panoramic sunroof, this new range-topping variant comes with digital side mirrors that use OLED monitors and external cameras instead of traditional bulky glass items.

The Namsan Edition’s standard kit list also includes a heat pump (to warm the interior, thereby reducing the energy demands placed on the high-voltage battery) and the Tech Pack (comprising auto-flush door handles, front relaxation seats, a driver’s memory seat, remote smart park assist, and parking collision avoidance assist).
