Lincoln unveils the electric Star Concept

Lincoln is aiming to have four pure-electric vehicles in its range by 2026. The brand’s move away from internal combustion engines will be signified by a refreshed design language, which the new Star Concept previews.

Thanks to the use of a dedicated rear- or all-wheel-drive battery-electric architecture, there’s more packaging flexibility too. Consequently, the Star Concept is able to combine a sleek profile with a spacious four-seat interior, coach style rear doors, and two separate luggage compartments.

According to Anthony Lo, Chief Design Officer of Ford Motor Company, “Electrification is removing many traditional vehicle design constraints, allowing us to reimagine what a vehicle can be. The Lincoln Star is a study of experiences and themes that push the boundaries of Lincoln design – and it’s just the start.”

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
