Porsche Cayenne S Diesel

Porsche has bolstered its SUV line-up with the arrival of the Cayenne S Diesel.

Unlike the regular Cayenne Diesel, which uses a 3.0 litre, six-cylinder engine with a single turbocharger, the new ‘S’ version features a 4.2 litre biturbo V8.

The increased displacement and extra cylinders mean dramatically boosted outputs and, as a result, performance is on a par with the petrol-powered Cayenne S. Efficiency is significantly better though, as would be expected.

The Porsche Cayenne S Diesel goes on sale in January 2013. The UK price has been set at £58,243, which is £1,455 more than the petrol Cayenne S.

In Germany it’ll cost €77,684 including VAT, while for buyers in Ireland the bill is going to be €101,150, thanks to a VAT rate of 23% and Vehicle Registration Tax of 32%.

2012 Civic NGTC livery

Honda Racing’s all-new Civic NGTC race cars were first seen at a Brands Hatch test session last month. Then they were painted plain white, but now the colour scheme that will be worn in this year’s British Touring Car Championship has been revealed. As expected, the design is predominantly white with red and black stripes. A deal with Yuasa has also been confirmed, which will see the battery manufacturer becoming the renamed Honda Yuasa Racing Team’s title sponsor for the next three years. Chevrolet’s Captiva is set to become a truly global vehicle. The compact crossover, which is already available in more than fifty territories worldwide, will soon add the United States to its tally of markets when sales begin there towards the end of this year. To be known as the Captiva Sport in the US, Chevrolet is aiming its new addition primarily at fleet customers. Aston Martin Racing has announced that it’ll be entering a V8 Vantage in the GTE Pro category of the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship. Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE. Scroll down for more images and a video. Painted in Gulf blue and orange, the car’s driver line-up has been confirmed as Adrian Fernandez, Stefan Mücke and Darren Turner. The plan is to contest all eight rounds of the WEC, which commences with the 12 Hours of Sebring on the 17th of March. For the third race - June’s Le Mans 24 Hours - a second Vantage is going to be run, but its drivers have yet to be named. In preparation for the season’s premier event the team also intends to compete in the Long Beach and Laguna Seca rounds of the American Le Mans Series.
