2015 North American Subaru BRZ range

There might be rumours that a more powerful Subaru BRZ is in the pipeline, but the just-announced 2015 model line-up for North America certainly doesn’t include one.

The coupé’s suspension has been tweaked though. Revised dampers are now fitted which are reckoned to offer better handling, especially over poor road surfaces. Other changes are limited to a faux carbon fibre dashboard panel, larger exhaust end pipes and the appearance of a shark fin antenna.

A new addition to the range is the Series.Blue special edition, which is immediately recognisable thanks to its STI black 17” wheels, red brake calipers and STI aerodynamically-optimised body kit. Inside, the Alcantara-covered seats feature blue leather bolsters and head restraints, plus there’s blue stitching that also extends to the unique steering wheel.

Just 1,000 examples of the Series.Blue are going to be built, with production split evenly between the WR Pearl Blue and Crystal White Pearl paint finishes. Deliveries are due to begin in July.

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
