Mercedes-Benz unveils a BMW X6 rival

Officially, Mercedes-Benz has created the Concept Coupé SUV to preview a possible new model. However if a production version doesn’t arrive very soon, it’d be a major surprise.

The five-door SUV-coupé crossover so obviously wants to steal sales from the BMW X6. Measuring roughly five metres long, two metres wide and 1.75 metres high, its dimensions are virtually identical to those of the X6. And then there’s the high-waistline, fastback styling which has resulted in uncannily similar proportions too.

For now, technical details are understandably sparse, but Mercedes is saying that the Concept Coupé SUV rides on air suspension and features four transmission modes for its all-wheel drive system.
