Renault Captur Helly Hansen limited edition

Renault has teamed up with Norwegian outdoor equipment firm Helly Hansen to produce a special version of its Captur crossover.

Distinguishing bodywork elements comprise grey skid plates front and rear, 17” two-tone alloy wheels shod with all-weather tyres and some wing-mounted Helly Hansen badges. Buyers have a choice of four paint finishes - including an exclusive shade called Flamme Red - and all can be ordered with a contrasting roof colour.

Inside the cabin, the Captur Helly Hansen gains chrome doorsill plates, red dashboard trim pieces and the R-Link multimedia tablet. Furthermore, some markets’ specifications will also feature leather upholstery and a rear reversing camera.

Although the available engine line-up is the same for any other Captur, the Helly Hansen edition is fitted with Extended Grip as standard. This innovative device is essentially an advanced traction control system that lets the driver choose between Road, Loose Ground and Expert modes to ensure maximum traction whatever the terrain. Usefully, it avoids the extra weight and expense involved with an all-wheel drive set-up while still meeting the needs of most Captur owners.

Sales of the Captur Helly Hansen are due to begin in most European territories in June, but some countries will have to wait until September. Renault says pricing is going to be announced soon.
