2018 Toyota GT86 Blue Edition unveiled

Toyota has announced the arrival of its latest ‘Club Series’ GT86. The new Blue Edition features Electric Blue paintwork with a contrasting black finish for the grille, 17” alloy wheels, door mirror caps, rear diffuser and boot spoiler.

Being based on the existing GT86 Pro trim grade, the standard equipment list also includes leather and Alcantara upholstery, a suede-textured dashboard, suede door trim and heated front seats.

Power is provided by the usual 197 bhp (147 kW / 200 PS) 2.0 litre petrol boxer engine. Either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission can be specified.

One thing that might tempt prospective customers is the Performance Pack, which is available exclusively with the Blue Edition. This option comprises Sachs suspension components, upgraded Brembo brakes and unique ten-spoke wheels, but the extra outlay required is £1,475.

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
