Peugeot Boxer 4x4 Concept unveiled

Most large camper vans are usually white or silver, so the Boxer 4x4 Concept immediately stands out thanks to Wanderlust Green satin paintwork which is combined with some striking mint, grey and matt black highlights.

The starting point for this one-off conversion was an L3 / H2 Boxer that measures 5,998 mm (19’ 8”) long.

As Peugeot opted for the most powerful version of its 2.2 litre BlueHDi diesel engine, 162 bhp (121 kW / 165 PS) plus 370 Nm (272 lb/ft) of peak torque are sent through a six-speed manual transmission to a three-mode Dangel four-wheel drive system. To further enhance the 4x4 Concept’s rough-terrain abilities, ground clearance has been increased – by 30 mm (1.1”) at the front and 50 mm (2.0”) at the rear – and BF Goodrich off-road tyres are fitted.

While the three-berth interior layout is entirely conventional for this type of vehicle, the choice of materials is certainly innovative.

For instance, the worktop, table and sink are all formed from a durable natural white mineral called Aragonite. In addition, only recycled plastics have been used to make the floor covering. Wood, grey Alcantara upholstery and several mint-coloured elements also contribute to the unique ambience.

The Peugeot Boxer 4x4 Concept is currently on display at the Le Bourget RV show.
