Nissan Extrem concept

Nissan is describing its Extrem concept as an ‘urban sports car’ that has been developed specially for the Brazilian market.

The 2+2 coupé, which is the highlight of the firm’s display at the São Paulo International Motor Show, is based on the same platform as the Nissan Micra supermini. That means it’s compact, measuring just 3,850 mm (12’ 7”) long, 1,530 mm (5’ 0”) high and 1,765 mm (5’ 9”) wide.

Dominating the styling are the large 19” alloy wheels, a dramatically sloping roofline and a high ground clearance. Nissan is saying that the Extrem could be fitted with either front- or all-wheel drive, although the latter would probably be there to improve traction on tarmac, rather than to provide any significant off-road ability.

While the Extrem could sit beneath the Juke in the Nissan range as an appealing niche model, there are no plans to put it into production just yet.
