2017 BTCC calender announced

We're not even halfway through the 2016 season, but series organiser TOCA has already revealed the schedule for next year's British Touring Car Championship.

Thanks to the continued success of the existing format, the list of circuits and the order in which they'll be visited remains unaltered. As is the case currently, each round is set to comprise three races.

There are a couple of minor timing changes, though. The Oulton Park meeting is going to take place two weeks earlier, thereby avoiding an unnecessary month-long springtime break. Accordingly, the following event at Croft is being brought forward by a week.

Perhaps surprisingly, Thruxton retains its early May slot. Given the puncture issues seen last month at the Hampshire track – a result of high speeds, an abrasive surface and hot weather – a swap with Donington Park or one of the Brands Hatch dates would've been a sensible move.
