Piaggio and (RED) create a fund-raising Vespa

(RED) is an organisation that tackles AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria through contributions to The Global Fund. Income is generated by selling (RED)-branded products, which are developed with partner companies. Piaggio Group, as the latest such collaborator, has just launched a special scooter.

Based on the current Vespa 946 and officially named (Vespa) RED, it features red paintwork (of course), matching wheels and a unique fuel filler cap. A final specification is due to be confirmed at November's EICMA motorcycle show in Milan.

Deliveries will then begin during December across Europe, the Pacific region, Asia and the United States. The Global Fund is going to receive US$150 (around £115 or €135 at current exchange rates) for each (Vespa) RED that finds a buyer.
