Ferrari 812 Superfast vs. Ferrari F12berlinetta
One of the undoubted stars of next month’s Geneva Motor Show will be the new Ferrari 812 Superfast. According to the company, this V12-powered model is set to become “the most powerful and exclusive” member of its road car line-up.
The 812 Superfast boasts some innovative features. Purists might not be too delighted that the list includes electric power steering (fitted to a Ferrari for the first time), but they should be happier with the Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 rear-wheel steering system.
Also part of the specification are under-body active aerodynamic flaps at the front and an updated version of Ferrari’s Side Slip Control.
Compared to the superseded F12berlinetta, the 812 Superfast gains some extra engine displacement. Consequently, power and torque are both notably increased, but the effect on the usual performance benchmarks appears to be rather limited.
