2019 BMW M5 Competition revealed

This year’s World Performance Car of the Year has just been improved. A new Competition version of BMW’s M5 promises better dynamics, extra pace and a higher price compared to the regular model.

Chassis enhancements include a revised front camber angle and a ride height that’s lower by 7 mm (0.3”). Furthermore, the rear anti-roll bar is stiffer and the tow links use ball joints instead of rubber mounts.

Unique 20” two-tone Y-spoke lightweight alloy wheels help to identify the M5 Competition. They’re shod with 275/35 R 20 and 285/35 R 20 tyres at the front and rear respectively.

The twin-turbo V8 engine’s displacement is still 4.4 litres but, as can be seen from the figures below, it benefits from a modest output increase. An M Sport exhaust system is fitted as standard, too.
