The final ICE-powered Smart cars
From next year, every Smart car will be propelled by an electric motor. To commemorate the changeover, a Final Collector’s Edition has been launched.
Munich-based designer Konstantin Grcic was commissioned to create this eye-catching version of the two-seater, using the existing Brabus fortwo cabrio as a starting point.
Significantly, the Final Collector’s Edition represents the brand’s last ever use of internal combustion engines, and just twenty-one examples are going to be built. That number recognises how many years have passed since Smart began production in 1998.
The unique paintwork dramatically transitions from bright yellow at the front to matte black at the rear. Those colours are repeated inside, where the effect is heightened by asymmetric upholstery.
