The MG ZS EV arrives in Europe
MG’s pure-electric ZS EV is set to make its European début at the London Motor Show, which takes place at ExCel later this month. The new zero-emissions compact SUV will later be sold alongside the existing petrol-powered version.
Maximum output from the ZS EV’s electric motor is rated at 148 bhp (110 kW / 150 PS), while peak torque is 350 Nm (258 lb/ft).
An under-floor 45.6 kWh ternary lithium-ion battery pack allows a reasonable driving range of 208 miles (335 kilometres) on the NEDC combined cycle. However, expect the more realistic WLTP measure to give a markedly lower figure.
Recharging using a domestic AC supply takes six hours. If time is an issue, then a dedicated DC facility can top up a flat battery to 80% capacity in thirty minutes.
Prices have yet to be announced, but according to Daniel Gregorious, Head of Sales and Marketing at MG, “With MG’s trademark value-for-money approach, we’re confident that we can help more and more new car buyers to go electric.”
UK deliveries of the ZS EV are due to begin in the autumn.
