2020 Honda SH125i and SH150i launched
Thanks to some significant updates, Honda is describing the 2020 versions of its SH125i and SH150i as practically brand new. These two scooters – which continue to be manufactured in Italy – are essentially identical apart from their engine sizes.
Alterations to the tubular steel frame have allowed the fuel tank to be relocated from beneath the pillion seat to underneath the floor. Consequently, lifting the saddle reveals 28 litres of storage space (an increase of 55% compared to the superseded models). Furthermore, ride comfort is claimed to be better courtesy of a slightly longer wheelbase and a revised rear suspension geometry.
Changes to the bodywork are fairly subtle, but they include a restyled fairing-mounted LED headlight. In addition, the LCD instruments have been refreshed and a USB charger is fitted for the first time.
The liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine used in both machines gains a larger bore, a shorter stroke and a four-valve head. As a result, output has risen and the single-cylinder unit now complies with Euro5 emissions standards. Final drive is still via a continuously-variable transmission and a V-belt.
Another enhancement is the appearance of Honda Selectable Torque Control on the standard equipment list. This system’s role is to manage rear wheel traction, but it can be switched off if required.

Honda is offering a choice of Pearl Nightstar Black, Timeless Gray Metallic, Pearl Splendor Red or Pearl Cool White paintwork for the 2020 SH125i and SH150i.
