Honda has updated the Rebel cruiser for 2020
Demand for mid-size cruiser motorcycles isn’t huge in Europe. Nevertheless, Honda maintains a presence in the segment with the Rebel, which is getting several enhancements for the 2020 model year.
Riders should appreciate the revised suspension set-up, the adoption of a slipper clutch and a more comfortable saddle that’s just 690 mm (27.2”) high. In addition, the circular negative LCD instrument display gains both a gear position indicator and a fuel consumption readout.
The blacked-out bobber-inspired styling is complemented by 16” cast aluminium wheels and new all-LED light clusters front and rear.
Matte Jeans Blue Metallic joins Graphite Black and Millennium Red on the list of standard paint colours. Alternatively, Matte Axis Grey Metallic can be specified in conjunction with a factory-fitted accessory kit (comprising black fork covers and gaiters, a diamond-stitch seat and a headlight cowl with a smoked screen).
The Rebel’s 471 cc, twin-cylinder, eight-valve, liquid-cooled engine is combined with a six-speed gearbox and a chain drive. Output is 45 bhp (34 kW / 46 PS) at 8,500 rpm, while 43 Nm (31 lb/ft) of peak torque arrives at 6,000 rpm. Thanks partly to a modified exhaust system, it now complies with Euro5 emissions standards.
